Mana Crystals are the only currency that rolls a Grimoire. Fragments are the crafting ingredient. Potatoes are the second ingredient. Spins, Yuls, and stat resets do not replace any of the three.
Craft one crystal
The Hage bench recipe that shows up in filmed sessions is 10 Crystal Mana Fragments plus 5 potatoes, about 20 seconds, for 1 Mana Crystal. Open the materials tab on that bench. The fragment calculator counts only the fragments. Bring the potatoes yourself.
Do not sell Golden Marlin fragments or potatoes while you are still short of a roll. Fish can be sold for Yuls after you have the crystal you need.

A Medium Chest pool is reported to include a Mana Crystal at about 0.38% and fragments at about 3.1%. A Big Chest pool is reported to include 1-7 Mana Crystals at about 6.7%. Those are chest-table readings, not boss guarantees.
Fishing loop
- Get a rod and bait. Common, Uncommon, and Rare bait show up in Normal Chests. Legendary bait was a reward on the expired 25KFAVSTY code.
- Cast in open water. The documented fragment route starts in Hage and uses the nearest river or sea. A filmed session fishes inside the starting village.
- Wait for the bite, then click through the reel minigame.
- Keep Golden Marlin fragments. Sell other fish to the fish dealer for Yuls if you need the bench fees.
Fishing Ease potions from chests and from the 40KLIKESGG and 90KFAVS codes are for this minigame. They do not roll books.
Index and notifier
Index milestones are cited as another crystal source. The exact milestone thresholds are not reprinted in the records gathered here, so open the Index in game rather than guessing a number. The Crystal Notifier from NATCH and from 100KFAVS is a timer that marks crystal landings. It is not a crystal by itself.
Spend finished crystals at the tower. The roll guide covers pity. Do not convert crystals into spins. They are different menus.
